Told the kids we were going on an adventure today, and took them to the St. Marks Lighthouse. We said that we would be able to go into the lighthouse and walk all the way to the top. They were very excited about this. Unfortunately for us, the lighthouse was closed. Carson says “Well this is a pretty lame adventure if you ask me”. Not wanting to disappoint, we went to Wakulla Springs on the way home and that seemed to make up for the lighthouse fiasco.
They used a bobcat to dig the slide all the way down the hill into the lake. Then they pumped water from the lake to the top of the slide to keep things moving. Awesome!
The top platform has to be about 30 feet above the water. It is ridiculously high. You’d think that would stop a six year old, but not Carson. Not to be out done by my six year old, I had to go off too. Let me tell you, I had a lot of time to think on my way down. I could have written a short story in the time it took for me to hit the water. Crazy fun time at the lake.
Got up on his first try and then there was no stopping him. After about 30 minutes, in true Carson fashion, he was standing on the hydro slide.
Lake Mystic 4th of July tradition, the patriotic boat parade. Part of the pre fireworks festivities.
Hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th of July!!
